End of Another Season...And I thank God for it.

So the post you are about to read could really be considered an update to the “Life Should Be Fun”  piece I did last month. I had mentioned how I was in need of some fun and a change.  My fun had largely consisted of playing and coaching volleyball a good 3-4 days of my week but that had slowly become the most laboring part of my week due to the level of enthusiasm I was getting from my teammates and a few of the people I coached.  Everyone knows that volleyball, especially gay volleyball, has so much attitude no matter what level you are playing that you would think everyone was making money off of playing just for the fun of it.  We all know what this is not the case because if you could be making money off of playing volleyball you wouldn’t be playing in that gym in Chelsea. Well as of Thursday our season ended and with the 5 teammates who made it to the game we won our last game of the season.  No, not the match just the very last game.  I must say that when things are not gelling

Highlights of One of a Kind Show.

Javier Gomez Studio www.javiergomezstudio.com Great photography. Loved his Urban collection. We just have no more space for photography on the walls. Nancy Nicholson: Artist www.nancy-nocholson.com Great cityscapes done in stained glass. She had them lit in boxes and they looked amazing. Would think one in a lit box or hanging in the window by wires would look great Mark Jeremy Gleberzon: www.markgleberzon.com Acrylic paintings on canvas. We are considering one of his pieces to hang on the wall. If you are around NYC this weekend then go check it out.  If not, hit the website www.oneofakindshownyc.com and maybe u will see something u like as well. Winter Freeze

Drip, drip, drip, sniff. Yes, that would be the sound my nose makes as I come in the door after walking from the subway a mere two blocks away. It is so cold outside, a rip roaring 21F degrees, that I seriously considering not going out for the entire weekend.  Haha, I know that is impossible as I have to be over near Terminal 5 in Manhattan in an hour or so. Best thing about that is Terminal 5 is basically on the Hudson River so not only will it be cold but the wind off the river should basically snap me in half. I really shouldn’t complain not when I can go to the GAP and get sweaters for 50% off or maybe get a new coat.  My winter coat from last year was hardly used and the shell isn’t even at my house. Hey B, I need to get that back from you sometime soon; I am sure it is stuffed in your closet somewhere. I know you will read this eventually. Not much to do this holiday season and I think that could be a good thing, but damn I get another year older next Tuesday and have a company

Forgive But Never Forget.

On December 7, 1941 2,402 Americans were killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor. Take a moment to reflect on the people who gave their lives that day, and never forget the brave Men and Women fighting for our country today. Posted via email from Christopher's posterous

Wishing I was at that Pride

Life Should Be Fun......

That has long been my mantra/motto/way of life and publicly it has been  the title of my blog for about 4-5 years now. Sadly it has not been that much fun lately; not in a scary kinda losing it way, just not feeling the joy of getting out there and trying new things. Something needs to change. I need to change. I need to catch that fire again that had me being the happiest person in the room since I was back in school.  I think I need some challenges. I have some incredible people in my life; I could count 4 of them who I would do anything and everything for. At least two of them could be reading this right now.  I know one of them told me he was reading the blog just yesterday. Yeah you. What up? I want to apologize to these people for one because I am totally filled with joy when I see them but it just isn’t coming across. So here is a challenge for you: suggest some things for me to do that one won’t get me killed/maimed or thrown in jail. Free/cheap is better since if I wanted tha

I Am Completely Blank.

Let’s just start off with some of my favorite pictures I have taken on my phone or I found online that made me laugh this past week or so.  Enjoy them. Now onto the piece of the day, no, not that kind of piece. No man-candy on here.  Actually, there may be a little Cheyenne Candy in the next post. It is like my mind is a piece of Swiss cheese and I can’t hold onto a fully realized thought let alone a item to really write about. I blame this on the social media world of 140-160 character messages.  I used to be able to write and write and post without edit.  Now I feel like I have to force myself to expand on my topics.  I often think to myself that most any Facebook status update, Twitter post or Brightkite posting are easily things I can expand upon into a full piece but it just has not been coming.  I think this quite often and I thought I have written this on my other blog ( http://saintly71.blogspot.com ) but the problem remains the same. It would seem the superfic

Stick By Your Fave Stores This Season

Taken today from The Morning Meme on Afterelton.com “I would like to make a personal appeal for everyone to do some shopping at The Gap/Banana Republic/Old Navy, as they're undergoing a two-month boycott by the fundies over their decision to not make the holidays entirely about Christmas in their advertising. Personally, I don't see why signs can't mention Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanza/Solstice in December, but since it's the American Family Association behind this, and they boycott any corporation even remotely gay supportive, from Pepsi to As The World Turns , I'm siding with inclusive "holiday" sales.” Just thought I would share this and if you think you want to do some shopping in the next few days, take along this coupon ( http://tinyurl.com/yf7ppwb )  for 30% off in-store purchases.    Posted via email from Christopher's posterous

Some Extra Smartphone Shots From This Week.

I am giving you a bit of everything from the 2 nd floor staircase, my crazy Jack Russell, my street, my view of Union Square from Filene’s Basement (yes, I shop there) to finally the crazy sides at the ghetto pizza place behind Port Authority. From Youtube to Real Life.

It is kinda funny that when I snapped this picture last week I had never heard of the Rickshaw Spiderman.  He was just standing outside of Hogs and Heifers, like he is going to find a fare there, more like an ass kicking. I think he was hoping that someone from The Standard would see him and want a ride.  I think not. Posted via email from Christopher's posterous
Wait, Mario Lopez wrote a children's book? Someone get me a sketch pad and some crayons, I guess I can write a series books.
Oprah, why didn't Gail get a nice gold microphone for the Texas Fair Show? I guess it wouldn't have matched her outfit like it did yours.

BS Detector

Can I sit in for Andy Cohen one night and ask the Housewives of Atlanta the questions we all want to ask? Such as: Who pays your bills really? If you have a house just sitting empty for 10 years; why can't u go in the door? How much do you get paid per episode? I guess I should work on my list but I doubt they would let me ask more than one question. Maybe I just email in a bunch of questions and see what happens. I feel as if they have a disclaimer ala "V": Don't ask any questions that would paint us in a negative light.

Just Because It Is Jake

All the photos over at Just Jared .

UPDATE: They Are Coming!!!

V Taking A Longer Production Vacation Than Expected? So check out this link to try and get an idea of what is going on with the show. Very hard to tell, but with all the excitement that the new series has aroused I can only hope they stay on track and give us what we have been wanting.

Kozmo, The Super Russell

He was loving the beach this summer.

I Want My WinMo 6.5! NOW!!!!!

So as I sit patiently waiting for today to roll around; I was hoping my phone would be able to upgrade to the New Windows Mobile 6.5. What did I get? Nothing? Technically I have seen nothing from WinMo6.5 all day except reviews that did not have great reviews but I will say any type of improvement would be great with me. I have stuck with Microsoft through their different phone OS upgrades and I keep looking for the day that they get something slick, fun and quick. Now it seems that if I want something like that I will have to wait until the first quarter of 2010 and then also get a new phone. Thus phone having a price tag that is no joke, seriously. Okay, just needed a little venting time. Most people don't care as they have their iPhones and Blackberries or Palm Pre's, but I want my upgrade now.

Sunday Walk to the Lever House Exhibit.

Oh the Sunday rain just had me feeling so relaxed and gray and mopey. I like relaxed but gray and mopey is never good. Let alone the fact that I am doing my best to give up as much sugar as possible. Oh, let me tell you I have not been the chipper, happy, silly Chris that most people see. I have been quite quiet and low energy. I had some small personal things on my calendar to do this week such as get over to the Lever House of Park Avenue to photograph their new lobby and courtyard. Once the rain stopped and the sun returned yesterday, Sunday the 27th, I thought there would be no better time to get some air and see something new. I always love their exhibits. I was quite happy to see that the seemingly "Hello Kitty" type installation in the courtyard was still there as I had lost my pictures I took of it earlier this year. Some are just standing, some are streaming water out of their eyes. The outside walls of the lobby for the Lever House are surrounded by phrases m
